I have been a member of PMINJ for 20 years and recently celebrated my PMINJ Anniversary
I enjoy attending the events and, on average attended 3 to 4 events per year before the pandemic.
By attending the PMINJ events, I have gained a great deal of confidence in how to present information to others by attending the in-person events and observing how the PMINJ presenters convey their message.
I started dancing the week after my 40th birthday, where I walked across a bed of fire in the Meadowlands Arena with Tony Robbins at a three-day event, i.e., Firewall. The first day of the Tony Robbins event is where you make a goal and walk across the fire at night in the parking garage, and my goal was to learn how to dance. I just turned 60 in November 2024. I had never danced until I turned 40, and now I can perform in front of a stage of people. I did a Rumba to the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way" in front of 200+ people at a variety show in October in Lakewood, NJ. I got a lot better than I ever would have thought possible back when I started.

I have been with PMINJ since 2017 and have been an active volunteer since then.
I have been part of the outreach community and have volunteered in social activities such as NJ Food Bank & Grow-a-row America. I particularly enjoy leading and organizing events for Grow-a-row, where members can get involved physically in harvesting produce for local communities in need.
What I enjoy most about volunteering with PMINJ is the sense of community and shared purpose. Collaborating with fellow project management professionals, exchanging ideas, and supporting each other’s growth is both inspiring and energizing.
Outside of PMINJ, I’m passionate about dancing, walking, meditation & yoga. I also enjoy traveling and discovering different cultures. I find that these activities help me stay curious and creative—qualities I love bringing to my volunteer work
Spending quality time with family and friends is my biggest source of joy and renewal. Whether it’s a ladies night out, a walk in the park, or simply sharing a good laugh, those moments help me recharge. It’s amazing how a little downtime can spark fresh energy and perspective!
My favorite place to visit is my home country India. I have yet to explore its massive vastness & my goal is to be able to visit all the historical landmarks in India. My current bucket list item is Mansarover in Mt Everest.

I have been a member of PMINJ since 2007 when I did my PMP. In my current engagement, I have been volunteering since 2022.
I am currently volunteering as Director Finance since 2022 and was nominated to the board in 2024. Previously I have volunteered with PMINJ as part of the memberships team in 2017 -2018
The most important aspect of volunteering that I love is giving back to the community, being able to work closely with other professionals and continue to bring value to our wider network of Project Managers, help them grow in their respective fields. Although I am not directly involved with a lot of the community members, but ensuring the funds are appropriately allocated and spent is critical to make sure the machine is well oiled and running.
I love to volunteer at my local Gurudwara, Sikh Temple, where I have been actively involved for the last 15 plus years and have been regularly on their board and served as a Treasurer.
Spending time with my family has always been my recharge. I would always drive my daughter to her activities as she indulged in learning music. My son plays basketball and over the years through his school years from Elementary to High School, I always loved to take him to his games, discuss the game on the ride back home. Currently he plays at Stevens Institute and I always look forward to going to his games.
My favorite vacation has so far been back to India to meet with the family. But over the years, I have taken a few trips to Europe and Mexico and loved it. Dream vacation would be to someday make a trip to Iceland.Jan 2026

Outside of work and volunteering, I like to read, run, travel with my husband, volunteer at theater houses, and play with my dog.
My husband and I are big travelers. Last year we went to Norway, this upcoming March we are taking a tour of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand, and in November, we’re looking into a trip to Iceland.
